by the sea (Hadrian’s bath, the market, the forum, the theatre etc…). Our guide speaks English. Excellent lunch and visit of the museum (countless statues of marble) and then the amphitheatre. Everyone is exhausted. 12 kms further one, we visit the Roman villa of Sirin with its amazing mosaics, its superb thermal baths, almost unscathed, just by the beach! Nice countryside, with valleys and olive trees, almond trees and eucalyptus flowers. We buy some local honey then return to Tripoli for some shopping in a super market. Fawsi returns home exhausted! We have some shwarma in a little restaurant that is really pretty messy (with our medicine ready in our pockets). Return to the hotel because there are strange people hanging around. The taxi driver spontaneously offers us a tape of Celine Dion! Very generous and sympathetic!

Thursday 16:

Taxi until the medina (the driver decides the trip is a gift!). Last stroll as we buy some spices and incents. Quick lunch and last taste of shwarma then we head back to the hotel where Fawsi is waiting to take us to the Airport. Flight to Amsterdam at 15:30. We go through security and are impressed by the Amsterdam Airport. We leave at 20:00 PM (incident in the plane as I faint from the excess heat !) . We are happy to find Mr. Thomas waiting for us at the airport with his super confortable taxi. The holydays our over and we have the feeling we have arrived on another planet!
